We need to straight for the jugular smash them so they don't know what's hit them early doors

We'll probably be shit until they score.
After that, what happens probably depends on how early they score.

Let’s make no mistake. They aren’t very good. If we don’t play like cowards we should have far too much for them. The space they were allowing, when he finally got on to exploit it, Paqueta was looking like he could murder them. He has to start or at least come on at half time if we aren’t a goal or two up.
Positive mindset should put them to the sword easily. Allow them to walk all over us and it could be a long and embarrassing night.

They remind me of South Korea back at WC 2002
Adventure and risk has not been coached out of them yet. That could be dangerous for us if our backline isn’t solid.

In an ideal world we could be semi cautious with our line up Thursday and go to Bournemouth and win.
Then our league situation looks that much better and we can focus more on this competition.
If we weren't doing so badly in the league then no reason why this would not be a full strength side. I think he will rest Rice, Paqueta, Antonio, Zouma and maybe even Bowen with the Bournemouth game in mind.
Play like we did yesterday and we win this easy.

Strongest team from the off. Kill the game in first half and then take players off at suitable times for the game against Bournemouth.
Easy this management malarkey.

Moyes will be going strong, don't worry about that. This is his best, and maybe last, chance to win a major trophy while sticking two fingers up at his detractors at the same time. He will go with close to what in his mind is his best side, and that will obviously include Antonio.

I'm not so sure Antonio starts, that was his best performance in ages yesterday, he left it all out there and not sure how fresh he'll be come Thursday.

I'd not pick Zouma or Coufal as I don't want either injured for Saturday. On the presumption that Aguerd is fit then I'd go with Aguerd and Johnson in the middle and Kehrer on the right. But if Aguerd hasn't recovered then we'll have to start Zouma given that Ogbonna is suspended (as well as injured as of yesterday).

Mubama
Cornet Lanzini Bowen
Rice Downes
Emerson Aguerd Johnson Kehrer
Areola
I'm saying Mubama because he won't play Antonio and he doesn't seem to want to play two upfront - Mubama seems more appropriate for one up front than Ings.

From yesterday’s game the first half hour aside, just tell our lot they are playing Arsenal. That same commitment should see us through Thursday and the rest of the season.

fraser - He'll be okay after 5 days and for me he starts, but let's see. IMO Moyes will prioritize this game over B'mouth. This is a very big game, no doubt about that.

I see the Alkmaar game kicks off early, so we will know about possible SF opponent before KO.

Yup. We have to prioritise this game. Simple as. I think that point yesterday and the way the other fixtures went has given us a tiny bit of freedom to do so. It’s unfortunate a ‘winnable’ PL game is three days after this one, but we have to take care of this one first and foremost and then see what happens afterwards.

I wonder what the lottery machine that Moyes uses to pick the centrebacks will produce for this match?
